Adostrophe joins AWS Activate.
Matterport's own infrastructure runs on AWS, so building on the same platform cuts down the lag when pulling heavy 3D models and spatial data through their API.
The cloud credits are going straight into Adostrophe Labs, the R&D side of the business, giving room to run machine learning tests, including using Amazon Bedrock to keep test data private, without touching the main operating budget.
Right now, this is powering the backend for two apps in development, Finostrophe and Ecostrophe. Making 3D environments run smoothly in the real world means hand-coding a lot of it from scratch rather than relying on templates, and AWS is the compute layer that makes stress-testing that code practical.
