A working list, kept current.
Published June 14, 2017 · Updated July 7, 2026
This one's been running since 2017: a working list of the places worth actually checking for digital marketing information, kept updated rather than rewritten from scratch each time. No year in the title on purpose; it's meant to stay current, not get replaced by a new post annually.
Straight from the platforms
Primary sources beat secondhand summaries, always: Google Ads' own blog, Think with Google for broader consumer trend data, Meta for Business, Microsoft Advertising's blog, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, Amazon Ads, and TikTok for Business, each platform's own updates, straight from source.
Independent reporting worth reading
Search Engine Land and Search Engine Journal for day-to-day search and SEM coverage, Adweek for the wider advertising and media-buying picture.
Where practitioners actually talk to each other
r/PPC is genuinely useful for real, unfiltered troubleshooting from people running actual accounts, and the Google Ads Community for account-specific issues moderated by people who know the platform.
Certifications, if you want them
Google Skillshop and Meta Blueprint are both free and legitimate ways to validate the basics, and LinkedIn Learning covers the broader strategy side.
Data and compliance
Google Trends for search volume and seasonality, and the IAPP Privacy Tracker for tracking global data privacy law, genuinely relevant now that India has its own DPDP Act to account for alongside GDPR and CCPA.
Updated July 2026: links checked and current as of this update. This list gets revisited periodically rather than left to go stale. If something here breaks or gets replaced by something better, it'll change here too.
